How to come at El Caribeo ? 

Located on the island of San Cristobal (10 min from Bocas Town, Isla Colon), El Caribeo is only accessible by the sea, which guarantees you a quiet stay while remaining close to the activities offered by the archipelago.
The Water-taxi Stop is located in “Calle 1ra”, next to “El Barco Hundido restaurant”.
Price of the ride to the hotel : around $20.
From Bocas del Toro Airport to the Water-taxi Stop, you can walk 10 min or take a $2.5 /pers cab.

Can I connect to WiFi ? 

Yes, Wifi is disponible in the restaurant / bar area.

Do you rent water stuff ?

Yes, we do have Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle or Snorkel gears available for rent.

Can i drink tap water ?

All of the water at El Caribeo is rainwater. It's filtered at the main house but it is not recommended to drink that of your bathroom. As our natural water source is limited, we ask all of our guests to be conservative in their usage.

What's the weather like?

The air and the sea in Bocas del Toro are always warm. The weather is usually nice, it rains sometimes during the day. In November and December the rain is more regular.

Electricity and outlets in the tents? Hot water ?

Each tent is equipped with hot water, outlets, a fan and lights. Please do not bring speakers, hair dryers, etc. We offer charging for personal electronics in the restaurant / bar area.

Do I have to reserve tours in advance?

All tour reservations can be made at the hotel. We will inform you about all of your options.

Mosquitoes, insects, or dangerous wildlife ?

We are in the jungle. However, because of the lovely ocean breeze and some preventative measures, we don't have many mosquitoes. Chitras (sandflies) only come out at dusk and sunrise, a quick application of coconut oil or bug spray will help to keep them away ! The tents are equipped with mosquitoes nets to guarantee you a good night.

What should I bring?

Quick-dry clothes (please note there are no laundry facilities)
Sunglasses and solar protection
Good book for the book exchange

It is very important that you do not bring any food.
El Caribeo is located in a beautifully lush rainforest, and there are many small insects which are attracted to any kind of food.

How to come to Bocas del Toro ?

From Panama City

By Plane – 1h : Air Panama www.airpanama.com.
From Albrook airport to Bocas Del Toro, Isla Colon.

By Bus – 10h : Gran Terminal de Transporte: www.grantnt.com.
Overnight bus from Albrook Bus Terminal to Changuinola, then a bus or taxi from Changuinola to Almirante dock (30 min).
And boat from Almirante to Bocas del Toro isla Colon (30 min), the last boat is at 6:00 pm.

By Bus – 10h : From San Jose (Costa Rica) to Bocas del Toro (Panama).

How to come to El Caribeo ?

El Caribeo is located on Cristobal island, 10 min from Bocas Town (Isla Colon). Only accessible by the sea that guarantees you a quiet stay while remaining close to the activities offered by the archipelago.

If you arrived by plane : you can walk 10 min or take a taxi ($2.5/pers) until the Water-taxi dock.

If you arrived by bus and water shuttle : from dock, you can walk 5 min until the Water-taxi dock.

If you already are in Bocas : you can manage your transport with your previous Hotel or contact us.

There is many Water-taxi that you can use, we recommend the one located in “Calle 1ra”, next to “El Barco Hundido”. Price around $20 (for 2 pers.)

If the driver don’t know the place, you can say :
